The WMC-Ⅱ 28 Series moving-beam fixed column gantry machining center features a moving worktable structure and is primarily composed of a base, worktable, columns, beam, connecting beam, ram, slide, pneumatic system, lubrication system, hydraulic system, cooling system, safety protection, guideway protection, CNC system, electrical control, and other components.
The main structural components—including the base, worktable, columns, beam, connecting beam, ram, and slide—are designed using 3D finite element optimization. These components are made of high-quality HT300 cast iron (with the ram constructed from QT600), incorporating non-ferrous metals in accordance with the European "M"eehanite quality standard. They are manufactured using the resin sand casting process and undergo comprehensive heat treatment (including secondary aging after rough machining) to eliminate casting and cutting residual stresses. This ensures excellent rigidity, freedom from deformation, and overall strength, stiffness, and stability of the machine.
- This machine series is with solid double-column structure of fixed gantry frame, moving table and vertical lifting of crossbeam. The lower part of the column closely connects with the bed and the upper part lines with composite beams, which can ensure high precision and high rigidity.
- The columns and beams are rectangular cross section with structurally optimised design and reasonable reinforcement for good rigidity, which could withstand heavy cutting but keep high precision in long term.
- The main parts such as bed, table, column and beam are all made of integrated whole casting structure. Sufficient quantities and thickness of metre rib and reinforcement plate are scattered inside machine bed and column to ensure machine rigidity.
- All parts are with heat and aging treatment. With second tempering to remove internal stress after rough machining, it can ensure the stability of the machine accuracy and durability.
